Model: Trina Ante

Let's take some of the widely known fairytale characters and put them into modern and glamorous fashion. This unconventional idea for the photoshoot is inspired by one of the episodes from America's Next Top Model "Falling Fairytale".

It was such a delight when Trina called me to do this project with her and we get to work with the photographer Daniel Tan. (Still waiting for the Rapunzel photo).

Etude House: Precious Mineral BB Cream Sheer Glowing Skin

Three weeks ago, Beverly Tanyag and I walked in Etude House and there right in front of us are the BB Creams! With Sandara Park as their image model- so gorgeous!

I have been hunting for a BB Cream, no no- wait, not for just a BB cream but a really good BB Cream that works well on Asian skin (and my sensitive skin too). Bev and I tested the products on our hands. The effect of the Sheer Glowing Skin caught my attention! After days of reading reviews about Etude House's BB Creams, I must say that the BB Cream Sheer Glowing Skin is bagging a lot of good reviews. So I finally decided to get one and see for myself.

On my first day and my first time, I was quite excited to test it. So I started by pumping a pea-size amount onto my hand. Applied dots on my face then did gentle patting motions with my fingertips until it is blended smoothly into my skin. When I finished, I got this pinkish and a bit gray-ish look which got me worried! First-timer jitters? If there is such term. I tried waiting for the BB Cream to set on my face for a while until it later blends on my skin tone very well -whew!

After three weeks of using this, It works great for me, considering that the coverage is so good that the dark spots and blemishes are no longer very visible. No need to put concealer! I must say that this looks great if you want a dewy finish. Plus, Etude House BB Creams all has whitening properties, has SPF30 PA++, and an anti-aging formula!

If you have oily skin (I have combination), better test it first. Though some has oily skin but this works okay with them. You can just pat a little powder on your forehead and nose. Otherwise you may want to consider the Sheer Silky Skin which gives a matte finish and has more oil control.

Have you tried this product? What do you think? ♥

FOTD: Pin Up Look

This look takes us way back early in 1910's and 1920's. I simply adore the simplicity of this look. Simple yet so elegant. Thick lashes, blushed cheeks, and finish it with a pink or red lipstick!

My favorite pin-up look is on Katy Perry!

Glee's Naya Rivera too! Her look is classic.

BTS: Kids

This is my very first time to do make up on little kids ages 2 to 11! It is very challenging since children's skins could be very sensitive on the harsh contents of certain cosmetics! My co-MUA and I was very strict in choosing the right cosmetics for our little models. Everything should be hypo-allergenic and disposable to avoid irritation on the little ones' skins. Sponges, eye and lip applicators... these are all disposable!

I got in the Summit Studio a bit earlier than our 8AM call time. Gotta prepare all the things that we need for the kid's hair and make up. Until batch by batch they started coming in our station. The batches of the little girls are pretty easy to manage since some of them do love make up, while some of the boys are really quite aloof. Although after explaining to most of them that we just need to put powder on their noses and foreheads (to avoid shiny faces on photos) they already felt okay with it.

We finished the whole 12 layouts for the URC Flour's 2012 Calendar at around 5:30PM. It was so dead tiring but we had soooo much fun! "Shooting 30 kids in one day is not a joke" @JamirDesign tweeted. But it was just so fun to see the kids enjoy the photo shoot, they are all so cute! Unfortunately, I didn't get to take photos with the kids since I was very very busy to simply get my camera and take pictures with them.

However, here are some behind-the-scene photos from sir Junie Jumig:

All Dolled Up

From sketching people's faces to doing makeup on people.

Arts and crafts are the things I enjoy since I was younger, it is the outlet of my emotions. Creating jewelries, designing clothes, writing poems, and a lot of sketching! I must admit that I have not been much into makeup way back when I was still embracing my pencils, sketchpads, paints, beads, etc. I was okay with just powder and lipgloss in my purse.

My interest in makeup only started when my sister asked me to do her hair and makeup for their prom. Since then, I tried experimenting with the eyeshadows, lipsticks, blush and realized that doing makeup is very much like painting on a canvass! -But of course, skin care still go with it. And from then on, I welcomed makeup to my arts... with open arms!

Finally, I decided to set up a new blog which is intended only for my love of beauty and makeup! Gotta expect that this blog will be a lot about kakikayan! I will be posting about beauty products, makeup looks/ideas, makeup artists that I admire, photographers and other people I work with, events and photoshoots that I participated in... basta anything and everything that involves beauty and makeup!

Come and join me on my journey as a freelance makeup artist! Let's go!!!
